xmrwallet.com - my wallet has been robbed (self.monerosupport)

Hi, I just had my wallet on https://www.xmrwallet.com/ robbed, just minutes after I deposited 4 XMR! Total of 5.686466954631 stolen! It has worked fine for the last 2 months. What can I do?!? :(

May I ask: How did you find xmrwallet.com? Where did you search for a Monero wallet?

Pretty sure I googled it. I remember being in a hurry, so clearly didn't check it out very thoroughly, but I'd been using blockchain.com for years with no problems so thought it'd be fine... Also I had used my xmrwallet.com account several times with no problems.

Well yes, that much is obvious! :( I only sent you this to show that xmrwallet is still listed on Google. (& to try & save others from getting burnt like I did, I notified Google that it's a scam site).

The first thing you are doing wrong is still using google. Secondly, why on earth would you use an online wallet that is not even on recommended Monero list to keep >5 XMR?

When I started, the first thing was to read a weekly thread. Later I installed the Monero GUI and ordered Trezor.

I know it may sound silly to purchase a wallet for the last money but hey, my Monero is still with me.

And never heard of someone being scammed while keeping their Moneros in the open-source Monero GUI.

Would you elaborate on this, please? I thought that Trezor is open-source software and hardware.

Same thing just happened to me with bitcoin. I’m making the switch to a hardware wallet.
